Areas of Practice - Depression
Depression is a real and often overwhelming experience. Left untreated, it can even be life-threatening, affecting 1 in 8 Canadians, according to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Beyond depression, 20% of us will face some form of mental health issue at some point.
People experiencing depression often have patterns of thought that can feel inescapable. Depression narrows one’s perspective, creating a sense of tunnel vision where the world appears small, bleak, and devoid of color.
Given this, could the mind that led us into this struggle also be the one to guide us out? Seeking treatment—whether for anxiety, depression, or another mental health concern—can be transformative. Finding the right therapist can support healing, learning, and growth.
Mental illness doesn’t discriminate; we are all vulnerable to situational or chronic stress that might deepen into something more serious. Life’s challenges can increase the risk of depression, but there is hope.
